Hello everyone!
I'm here to request some help about the "Bugfixed HL Release".
I installed v0.1.836 client.dll & hl.dll into my Steam Half-Life and got an error:



I also attached required files (crash.dmp and crash.log).

Here is my system info:

CPU: Intel Core i7 Q740 1.73 GHz (8 CPUs)
OS: Windows 8.1 x64
RAM: 6 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (4035 MB)

What I've done:

To run Steam as administrator.
To view the dmp file using Visual Studio.
To update C++ Runtime Libraries (because an error like this mostly occures in a C++ program)

Thanks for the report.
Please specify steps to reproduce or/and conditions under which crash happens.

Also upload hw.dll and cl_dlls\GameUI.dll files. Just archive them, forum allows to attach archives.

It is so worse that error shows up when I open the game, even before the game menu shows up. And then, crashes. I checked everything twice if I do something wrong.

I have successfully running it at the same build:
If you wish, you can get this client.dll here: http://aghl.ru/files/patches/BugfixedHL/.
But I don't think that this will change something.
What can be done: try to validate game cache in the steam, try to change videomode.
Btw, what is your videomode?

Hmm... Looks nothing weird at the build. The engine version is 1.1.2.6 in mine.
Game cache is OK, I checked. But I will redownload the game anyway.
And, my video mode is OpenGL. I also checked updates for my GPU, nothing new.

Engine build can be checked with version command in console.
With your settings should be no problems at all.

If I got crash dump correctly, engine wasn't able to load cl_dlls\GameUI.dll and initialize console from it afterwards. But I dunno why. client.dll shouldn't affect this.

I have redownloaded the game and now it works. But I should say that new GameUI.dll was different from old GameUI.dll. I don't know how can this happen because it was downloaded via Steam normally.

But I checked GameUI.dll you uploaded earlier - it was ok - fully matching mine from 6153 build and I tested exactly with it.
Can you upload one you are having now? Along with hw.dll too.

Something looks fishy here. I don't understand how can the new one differs from the old one. Uploaded my current DLLs as attachment.
